Big Day: Laura and Martin

Laura is one of my best friends. We met in Photo I at Notre Dame and were fast friends. I remember spending long nights with her in the darkroom developing film and prints for class. Over the years we’ve grown even closer and I’ve been incredibly fortunate to watch her and Martin’s relationship get stronger and stronger. When Martin asked me to photograph his proposal last year I was SO excited. Since then I’ve photographed Laura and Martin two more times (once during a freak snow storm and once during the summer). It’s always fun to work with them… they are so playful!

Well, this past weekend I FINALLY shot their wedding. We’ve all been counting down the days. Through all the planning and preparing, we were all extremely excited for the big day. Of course, when Saturday finally came around, everything went perfectly. All of Laura and Martin’s planning resulted in a beautiful ceremony and reception filled with lots of love and happiness. From their first look amidst dozens of balloons to their crazy awesome first dance (they broke out some sweet moves), everything was completely ‘them’. Thank you so much for once again allowing me to be apart of your life in such a special way. I love you both and I can’t wait to watch you guys grow as husband and wife!
