Camp Mariposa

I love camp Mariposa. This wonderful camp is a place for children living with a drug or alcohol dependent family member to come and learn that they aren’t alone. It’s a place where they can just be kids and have fun for a weekend. At camp, the kids learn about addiction and have the opportunity to talk about what’s happening in their lives with other kids experiencing the same thing and therapists that can help. I’ve been volunteering with Camp Mariposa now for about one year and it’s been an amazing experience. The kids at Camp are so brave and resilient and it’s completely awe inspiring to watch them open up at each camp.
