This post is a threefer! By that I mean, this post includes the three posts I wrote about Laura and Martin… so, enjoy!
Post One:
Laura is one of my best friends. Martin is one of my new friends. Martin and Laura love each other. This is why I was SO excited when Martin told me that he was going to propose to Laura and that he wanted me to photograph the proposal! We were really stealthy about it. We had a plan and we stuck to it… Laura didn’t even see it coming! (Okay, maybe she might have started to suspect something, but she was still VERY surprised!) Martin popped the question at the beloved Grotto at Notre Dame. Once Laura said YES we went around campus and took a couple more photos!!
Post Two:
If you’re from the South Bend area, you know what we woke up to this morning… about TWO FEET OF SNOW… and MORE TO COME! It’s crazy out there! And while, for most people, this much snow would mean staying inside, watching TV, and eating copious amounts of comfort food, for Laura, Martin, and I it meant one heck of an engagement session. Laura and Martin got in to town last night (when the snow was coming down, but nothing TOO bad). We have been planning this session since they got engaged back in October and we’ve had to postpone it a time or two due to weather… and had we been aware of this torrential snow storm, we probably would have pushed it back once more, but the meteorologists tricked us this time. So, this morning we had a decision to make: would we throw in the towel and try again another day or would we fight back and go through with our plans despite the horrendous weather. We decided on the latter. We went out in the blizzard and took (part one) of their engagement session and I am SO glad we did. We may have been cold and up to our waist in snow at times, but the resulting pictures were totally worth it! Don’t ya think?!
Post Three:
After their last engagement session, Laura, Martin, and I all agreed that a warm weather session was in order. I mean, come on, they trooped through three feet of snow for their last session! So, this weekend, Laura and Martin made the drive up here from Bloomington on one of the warmest weekends in recent history and we made a day of it! We went to New Buffalo and spent a couple hours at the beach just playing and snapping photos… it was a blast! After that we headed back to South Bend and went to St. Pat’s Park to take photos during a lovely sunset. It was a beautiful day to photograph a beautiful couple. I am SO excited to shoot these guys’ wedding in November! It’s going to be a blast! :-)
