Vintage Spring Inspiration Shoot

Okay, guys, this is it… this is my first styled shoot and I am SO excited to share these photos with you. My friend and talented graphic designer, Laura Rings and I combined creative forces to create this wedding shoot. This shoot was inspired by my grandparents’ wedding which took place 60 years ago this year… we felt it would be really fun to create a styled shoot that alluded to their wedding while also infusing modern elements.

One of my favorite details from my grandparents’ wedding was my grandma’s wedding dress. My grandma didn’t like how pure white looked on her, so her dress had a light blue underlay. Some people thought this was a little scandalous, but my grandma assures me that it was just because she liked how it looked! So, in honor of my grandma’s dress, Laura and I decided to use white and blue as our main color theme for this shoot.

Most of the details included in this styled session are things that have been passed down in my family. The typewriter, the buttons, the bride and groom S/P shakers, the books, and glassware were all handed down from different members of my family. It was neat being able to use them as inspiration!

In addition to wanting to reflect some family history in this shoot, I also REALLY wanted to highlight some of the great vendors from here in South Bend, IN. There are some seriously talented people here and they deserve to have their work showcased!

And, finally, a special shout out to my beautiful friend, Christy, who made the perfect model for this shoot!

I hope you like these photos as much as we enjoyed creating them.
