Many of you may remember when I photographed the Angel Family as they prepared for the arrival of Baby Joshua. Cacia and Craig had recently discovered that their new son would be born with Trisomy 13 and would, most likely, not survive birth. I took some maternity photos and documented their time as a family when Cacia was seven months pregnant and then waited to get the call that Joshua was coming. About a month later, I got that call and headed to Goshen Hospital to document Joshua’s birth and short, love-filled life. He wasn’t expected to life more than a few hours at most, but little Joshua lived for three days. His parents and everyone that loved him got to meet him and spend time with him; it was beautiful.

The Angel Family’s story was also beautifully documented by Kim Chappell of ABC 57 here in South Bend. Kim did a wonderful job telling their story and talking about the organization I volunteer for, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. It was an honor to be a part of the story and to be there for Joshua’s life. Here is the feature on this amazing family. If you feel so inclined, please share it with your friends and family.
